Founded in 2022 by Artistic Director Danielle Davis, Pangea Dance Collective is a New York City-based concert dance organization and 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Pangea is guided by our shared belief in the power of movement as a universal language. We affirm that, through dance, we can create art that transcends race, religion, gender, nationality, and all other “borders” that divide humanity.

Additionally, unlike a traditional dance organization, where one choreographer sets pieces on a company of dancers, at Pangea, dancers work collaboratively to bring one another’s choreography to life, eliminating built-in hierarchies and giving everyone agency in the creative process. We regard the dancer’s body as an archive that holds incredible stories, and we are committed to telling as many of them as possible!

Because our work reflects and relies on our dancers’ unique experiences, we are better able to make connections with diverse audiences. Pangea performances are a joyful patchwork of dance styles and subjects, from contemporary and ballet to modern and jazz. We strive to give our artists the opportunity to demonstrate their incredible talent and versatility, and our audiences the opportunity to enjoy the same.
