Mission

At Pangea Dance Collective, we believe in the power of dance as a universal language that can transcend race, religion, gender, geographical borders, and everything that divides humanity. We are committed to respecting the whole artist and regard the dancer’s body as an archive that holds incredible stories. As such, our works reflect and rely on the unique experiences of our dancers in the hopes that we can make connections with diverse audiences.

Pangea Dance Collective is currently based in New York City.

 Core Values

  • At Pangea Dance Collective, we treat all artists with the dignity they deserve. This means approaching artists as humans first and dancers second. By recognizing and respecting the complexities within each person—as well as their cultural experiences—we create a healthy environment for creativity to flourish.

  • It is our hope that the art of dance can reach the widest possible audiences. We work to make dance more accessible by providing alternative ways to engage with our art.

  • Pangea Dance Collective is committed to creating a work environment that is sustainable, flexible, and ultimately able to cater to the needs of its artists. We conduct ourselves professionally when working with artists both inside and outside of our company.

  • Pangea Dance Collective is dedicated to viewing the world through a compassionate lens. We welcome discussions that challenge our knowledge and invite us to look beyond our individual experiences. As such, we view kindness as necessary to the functionality of artistic discovery.

  • At Pangea Dance Collective, we nurture curiosity in our artists—not only to help them discover new things about themselves but to help them transcend creative boundaries. Interested in the lived experiences of both our artists and our audience members, we seek to navigate the far reaches of a fast-evolving arts world in the pursuit of greater knowledge.

  • At Pangea Dance Collective, we understand that we will be engaging with a myriad of diverse voices and perspectives. It is our hope that our art can be a bridging force between these perspectives as we strive to forge creative alliances.
