At Pangea, dancers are encouraged to set pieces on one another, giving everyone an opportunity at the front of the room. We reject traditional hierarchies that position dancers as “clay” to be molded by their choreographer. Dance may be a silent art form, but dancers should never feel silenced. Through choreography, Pangea’s artists are empowered to reclaim agency over the creative process—the way they look, the way they move, and the stories they tell.
